One of the games of the fourth round at the 2010 Australian Open sees Fernando Verdasco take on Nikolay Davydenko for a place in the quarter-finals.

Davydenko is the 3/10 favourite to progress to the last eight, with the Russian having easily disposed of Argentine Juan Monaco in the third round, winning 6-0 6-3 6-4.

Verdasco, seeded ninth here, made the fourth round after his third round opponent Stefan Koubek was forced to retire when trailing 6-1.

The Spaniard is 12/5 to progress to the quarters which will be of interest to some. Davydenko has been tipped by some to go all the way in the tournament, although the major obstacle in his way is Roger Federer, with the winner of this tie almost certainly meeting the Swiss in the quarter-finals.

These two have met on seven previous occasions, with Davydenko holding a 6-1 head-to-head lead. Those seven games include three on hard courts, which were all won by the Russian - while Davydenko also won both of their two meetings in 2009 in straight sets.

There's no doubting that Verdasco will make this a tough game for Davydenko, but its hard to see past a win for the Russian.
