Andy Roddick faces Jurgen Melzer in the third round of the Wimbledon Championships on Saturday with the winner earning a spot in the final 16.

Roddick holds a perfect 8-0 lead in the head-to-head series. However, Saturday’s clash marks the first occasion the players will bo battle on a grass-court.

With the departure of fifth seed Juan Martin Del Potro in the second round, Roddick emerges as the highest seed left in his quarter of the draw.

Roddick won his opening-round and second-round matches fairly comfortably, defeating Jeremy Chardy of France and Russian Igor Kunitsyn in four sets.

Meanwhile, Melzer eased his way to the third round, dismissing American Wayne Odesnik and Benjamin Becker of Germany both in straight sets. The 28-year-old Austrian looks to advance to the round of 16 at the Wimbledon Championships for the first time in eight attempts.
