Murray and Cilic will meet on Friday from the London's Queen's Club tournament.
Andy Murray, the titlist from London's Queen's Club in 2009, will face Marin Cilic in the quarterfinals of this year's event as both players eye the semifinals.
The two players have met six times in the past with Murray normally unbothered by the Croat. The world number four currently holds a 5-1 record against Cilic with the only loss suffered in a pretty big match from the 2009 US Open.
Murray has twice avenged that defeat however and the Scot has won the only head to head match between the two that was played on the grass court surface although that was a five setter back in 2007.
Murray enters the quarterfinal as a
1/5 favorite to win straight-up with
bet365 while Cilic comes in with a modest chance at
10/3. The Croat has battled with Murray well even when losing and he is capable of defeating the world number four on an off-day.
Both players are into the quarters with only one lost set so far in the tournament and the winner will likely face Andy Roddick in the semifinals.
Despite the threat posed by Cilic, Murray has been the more consistent player and the Scot's grass court results are more distinguished.
They will meet in the second match on centre court on Friday's Order of Play:
