Andy Murray gets his US Open underway against Lukas Lacko later this afternoon.

Murray has been made to wait until day three to get his campaign started and much is expected of the world number four in this tournament. Murray has been scheduled early afternoon on the Arthur Ashe court and will get his first taste of the blistering heatwave which is predicted to last the entire fortnight in Flushing Meadows.

It is something which will not particularly favour Murray's title chances, he suffered in Cincinnati a couple of weeks ago and has seen his chances fade in sweltering conditions at slams in the past.

However he should progress safely against Lacko, an opponent he remembers from his junior days. While Murray has risen to the top of the game, Lacko is currently ranked 71 and has not been past the quarters of an ATP tournament this year.
