Andy Murray goes for back to back Shanghai Masters finals today against Japan's Kei Nishikori.
Murray took his winning streak to 13 matches with a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win over Aussie qualifier Matthew Ebden on Friday afternoon. Murray is well on course to make it three titles in a row during the Asian indoor swing but ever the perfectionist, Murray felt he could have raised his game.
"I created a lot of chances," Murray said. "I had game points in almost every one of his service games during the match. [But] I could have done with being a bit more clinical.
"I feel like I can play better. I served well so far. But I think I can hit the ball a bit better from the back of the court. And, like I said a few days ago, it's different conditions to the last couple of weeks. Maybe still adjusting a bit."
Nishikori is enjoying the finest week of his career by far. Having earned his first ever win over a top ten player when he took out Jo-Wilfried Tsonga early on, Nishikori's 6-4, 6-3 quarter-final victory over Alex Dolgopolov ensured he reached a Masters 1000 semi-final for the first time. On Monday he will now become the highest ranked Japanese player of all time, rising to about 32 in the world.
Prediction: Murray to be tested but to progress in three.
