Andy Murray is in action against future star Grigor Dimitrov in the last eight of the Thailand Open in Bangkok.
Murray is looking to repeat his 2005 feats where he reached his debut ATP final before losing to Roger Federer. He made a strong start on Thursday, cruising past Germany's Michael Berrer 6-4, 6-2 in just over an hour.
"I served well throughout," Murray told the press. "I'm still trying to overcome the jetlag a little bit, as I find it difficult travelling East. I started playing better in the second set, moving well."
Murray could face his first real test of the tournament on Friday against former Wimbledon junior champ Dimitrov who is something of a rising star and reached a career best ranking of 52 earlier this season. The Bulgarian eased past Italy's Simone Bolelli 7-6(8), 6-1 in round two and knocked out fifth seed Ivan Dodig in straight sets at the start of the week.
However he's never come close to beating anyone of Murray's class in the past, losing to Monfils in straight sets at the US Open.
Murray is seeking a third title of the season after triumphing at Queens and the Cincinnati Masters. He should progress through this one fairly comfortably to reach the last four.
