Andy Murray has decided to limit his schedule over the summer and is not scheduled to return before the Montreal Masters.

Murray competed in Los Angeles at the end of July last year, reaching the final but the world number four told the press that his priorities right now are rest and recovery. It's been a strenuous two months for the British player who made at Wimbledon and the French Open for the first time in his career.

Murray's commitment to the Davis Cup has been questioned in the past but his loyalty could not be doubted last week as he joined the team just days after his exploits at SW19. In front of a partisan home crowd he won all three rubbers as Britain defeated Luxembourg 4-1 to move a step closer to promotion from Euro-African Zone Two.

Now Murray says his first priority is a bit of a break. "I'm going to go over to the States a week on Monday or Tuesday and I'll be there until the US Open," he told the press. "I'll take a few days off now. I don't know if I'll go away somewhere or stay in London. My fitness trainer is getting married on Saturday so I'm going to that."

He plans to head to Miami to begin a training block this time next week. Murray will stay there until defending his title at the Masters 1000 event in Montreal which begins on August 8th. That's followed straight afterwards by Cincinnati and then the US Open a couple of weeks later.
