Andy Murray is into the quarterfinals of Roland Garros 2011 as the Scot advanced at the expense of Viktor Troicki on Tuesday.
Andy Murray, the fourth seed at Roland Garros, is into his second career French Open quarterfinal as the Scot defeated Viktor Troicki in five sets on Monday/Tuesday.
Murray and Troicki were originally scheduled to complete their first round match on Monday however darkness led to the match being suspended tied at two sets each.
They resumed their play on Tuesday afternoon and the Scot took down the fifth set 7-5 after trailing in the match two sets to love. Murray overcame a two sets to love deficit in the 2010 French Open as well as he came back against Richard Gasquet in the first round of that tournament.
As a result of the win over Troicki, Murray will face Juan Ignacio Chela in the quarters, the oldest player remaining in the draw at the French Open this season. Chela is 31 years old and even when he was playing his best tennis he was not able to make it past the quarterfinal stage of any Grand Slam.
Murray should not be troubled by the Argentine with a Rafael Nadal vs Murray semifinal possibly looming although Nadal could have his hands full with Robin Soderling.
