Andreas Seppi and Julien Benneteau face off for one of the biggest challenger titles of the autumn in the Ethias Trophy final.
Second seed Seppi ultimately proved too strong for the rising Latvian star Richard Berankis in the last four. Berankis had his chances but his forehand broke down at crucial times in both tiebreaks and Seppi progressed 7-6(4), 7-6(2).
It was far easier for Benneteau who has dropped just the one set all week and outclassed world number 251 David Goffin 6-4, 6-2. Even Goffin's home fans could not help him keep it close and Benneteau showed exactly why he's been ranked so high in the past.
The Frenchman will be favourite to pick up the second challenger title of his career on Sunday. He would not be ranked lower than Seppi if it wasn't for an injury which kept him out of the first part of this season. He returned strongly in the summer, reaching the final of ATP Winston-Salem.
The head-to-head stands at 1-1. Seppi edged it 2-6, 6-2, 7-5 in the final of the Bergamo Challenger three years ago.
However expect Benneteau to pull through this one in straight sets.
