Andreas Beck could be in dangerous against Bosnia’s Amer Delic in the second round of the Sarajevo challenger.
Delic was ranked 60 in the world four years ago but after 18 months out with injury the Bosnian finds himself down at 444 in the rankings. He received a deserved wildcard this week, proving at the end of last season that he is definitely capable of getting himself back in the top 100, winning a challenger in the States.
Standing at 6’5, Delic possesses a huge serve and he saw off Estonia’s world number 197 Jurgen Zopp in straight sets in the first round.
Beck has also fallen on hard times though in the German’s case, his slump has been more a case of loss of form after reaching a career best ranking of 35 two years ago. Most comfortable on clay, the hard hitting left-hander edged past Russia’s Konstantin Kravchuk in the opening round 7-6, 7-5.
Prediction: Delic in straight sets
