Ana Ivanovic aims to get Serbia off to a good start against Kazakhstan in the Hopman Cup.
This is a dangerous tie for Serbia as Kazakhstan are a fast-improving side and they competed impressively at the Hopman Cup last year. Shvedova and Andrey Golubev proved to be quite a force in the mixed doubles and they only just missed out on making the final.
Ivanovic had a superb end to 2010, winning titles in Linz and Bali and she will be hoping to start this season in a similar vein. She has plenty of good memories from down under in the past having made the Australian Open final in 2008.
The powerful Shvedova is ranked 39 and enjoyed plenty of doubles success last year, winning two Grand Slam titles. In singles she enjoyed her best form on clay, reaching the last eight at Roland Garros.
Ivanovic and Shvedova are 1-1 on head-to-heads but Ivanovic won 6-1, 7-5 in the States last summer and expect a similar scoreline here.
