Ana Ivanovic takes on Victoria Azarenka in the first round of this week's WTA Premier event in Cincinnati.

It is a very harsh draw on Ivanovic, the Serb has had no luck at all in the past few weeks. At these super-strong events their tend to be no easy matches but this is the second week Ivanovic has drawn a top 20 player in the first round.

In San Diego she got Shahar Peer, the Israeli world number 16 and it was a tight match for a set until Peer pulled away to win 7-6, 6-3. However this is an even tougher task as Azarenka won the Stanford title at a canter two weeks ago, beating Sam Stosur and Maria Sharapova in straight sets and she will be one of the favourites this week.

The Belarussian wisely took last week off to practise ahead of this tournament and looks very sharp at the moment. She is 1-1 on head-to-heads against Ivanovic with both matches being played on clay.

Ivanovic will take heart from her 6-4, 6-4 win over Azarenka in Rome earlier this year. She showed glimpses of the tennis which had taken her to world number one that week and she will need similar inspiration to avoid an early loss tonight.
