The Serb fought off a strong second set resistance against Petrova, and closed the match out at 6-1, 7-5.
Ivanovic’s opponent in the final will be Anabel Medina Garrigues. Medina Garrigues had been close to winning the third set in her semi-final clash against Sabine Lisicki, before the German was forced to retire due to injury. Medina Garrigues also won by virtue of retirement in the quarter-final, and she’ll take part in Sunday’s final having not actually finished a full match in Bali.
Speaking ahead of the matchup, Ivanovic said, "I feel lots of love and support in Bali. I'm very happy I have a chance to play tomorrow, the last match of the season. I hope I can get my serve and fighting spirit going like they have been the last few days. I hope the crowd will be full tomorrow again and we can show some good tennis."
Medina Garrigues commented, "Today I was a little bit nervous, but now I'm happy to be in the final. Right now I feel very comfortable on this court. I've been practicing on it all week and have my timing on both sides. I'm feeling good here in Bali and just trying to enjoy my game and my matches this week."
