Ana Ivanovic was in outstanding form on Wednesday, and she was able to thrash an in-form Vera Zvonareva 6-2, 6-1. The Serb hasn’t won a WTA title this year to date, but her performance against Zvonareva was perhaps an indicator that she can change this by the end of the week.

Next up for Ivanovic will be world No. 12 Agnieszka Radwanska. Radwanska won the Toray Pan Pacific Open last week, and she’s looking like a contender for the title in Beijing as well. She got through round three by securing a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Sofia Arvidsson. Arvidsson put up a decent resistance, but after winning the first set, Radwanska always seemed destined to progress.

Ivanovic has a 3-3 head to head record against Radwanska, though the momentum is with the Pole. Radwanska is currently on a three match winning streak against Ivanovic, and she’s arguably the favourite here. There isn’t a lot to choose between these two competitors, and this should be an exciting clash.
