Ana Ivanovic is optimistic about turning around her form slump in the new season.
Ivanovic had the world as her oyster when she won her first grand slam at Roland Garros in 2008. Having also made the Australian Open final that year she was ranked world number one but from there things only went downhill.
Ivanovic’s form slump and subsequent loss of confidence which has seen her drop out of the top twenty, has been as mysterious as it has been dramatic.
However she has joined forces with former coach Sven Groeneveld again and hired a new fitness trainer Mark McGrath. Ivanovic has confidence it could lead to a turnaround in her fortunes.
"I've worked with Sven on and off for more than three years. He knows me and my game best and we have had the time to work on some technical areas that needed improving -- for example, my backhand," she said.
Things are also looking up for Ivanovic off court, now in a settled relationship with top Australian golfer Adam Scott.
Ivanovic begins her 2010 campaign in Brisbane where the field is exceedingly strong with three grand slam winners and five former world number ones.
