Amir Khan has revealed that he was supporting Andy Murray at Wimbledon and hopes the Scot will support him to World title glory next week.

Khan has said that he wants close friend Andy Murray to forget his Wimbledon heartache and support him to world title victory against Kotelnik.

Amir Khan revealed that his dream summer would have been for him to seize the WBA world light-welterweight crown within weeks of Andy Murray winning Wimbledon.

However with Andy Murray falling at the semi-final stage of Wimbledon, Khan will be hoping to avoid a similar fate.

"How great would it have been if we could have both become champions?" said Amir Khan

"It wasn't meant to be for Andy Murray. But, hopefully, I can help him get over it by winning that belt." continued Amir Khan.

Amir Khan added that he wants the Andy Murray to take up his offer of a seat in Manchester to watch the fight.
