Agnieszka Radwanska will face Sofia Arvidsson on Thursday in the third round of the China Open

Agnieszka Radwanska is in the middle of an outstanding run of results at the moment, and she’ll be vying for a place in the quarter-finals of the China Open on Thursday, having beaten Jie Zheng 6-1, 6-4 in round two. Radwanska had little trouble against Zheng, and controlled the contest by crushing the wildcard’s second serve.

Radwanska will now face Sofia Arvidsson in round three. Arvidsson was on court for almost two and a half hours in round two, though she’s had plenty of time to rest after her surprise victory against Petra Kvitova (7-6(6), 4-6, 6-3). Arvidsson isn’t one of the big names here, but she might have a chance if she plays like she did in round two.

Radwanska won the title last week in Tokyo, and it looks like she’s got a reasonable chance of doing the double in Asia if she remains focused. Arvidsson will be eyeing up her second upset of the week, but Radwanska should be able to earn a berth in the quarter-finals here.
