Fourth seed Radwanska caused a stir in the media by hitting an unfortunate camerman with an awry golf shot earlier this week but her tennis has been impeccable. She reached the semis in Stanford last week and dispatched former world number one Dinara Safina 6-1, 6-3 in the second round here.

It could have been even more emphatic but Safina made a late bid to save face at 5-1 in the second.

Seventh seed Peer has also reached the last eight without dropping a set and avoided a potential banana skin in the first round, taking out wildcard Ana Ivanovic 7-6, 6-3.

Peer has had success against Radwanska in the past and leads their head-to-head 3-1. She won 6-3, 6-7, 6-2 in Stuttgart earlier this year. However this was on clay and Radwanska is best on hard courts. The Pole is probably a good bet to get revenge tonight.
