Federer is going for a 70th career title on Sunday evening at the event he has dominated so much over the years. This is his seventh final and he's only ever lost one, back in 2005 when David Nalbandian defeated him in five dramatic sets.

The Swiss booked his place in Sunday's showpiece match with a 7-5, 6-3 win over the tenacious David Ferrer. It wasn't vintage Federer but going into the match holding an 11-0 head-to-head advantage, it never looked like defeat crossed his mind.

Tsonga overcame a bout of late-match nerves to get past Tomas Berdych 6-3, 7-5 and the Frenchman was delighted to reach this final for the first time.

"It's a good victory for me because I was really tight," he said afterwards. "I didn't play a good tennis, but I won. This is the goal of this sport. I did it tonight. So I'm just really happy to reach this final. All the time [it's] really exciting to play against Roger. It's going to be really special here, for my first final. It's going to be an amazing atmosphere I think on the court, and I like that. I'm sure I will respect Roger a lot and play my best tennis."

Federer and Tsonga are playing for the third Sunday in a row after the Paris Masters final and last week's round-robin clash. Federer has won each time and it will be a big surprise if he doesn't make it three in a row.
