ATP World Tour Finals Round Robin - Federer vs Del Potro Related Articles See all Tennis News news Share it Facebook Twitter Google+ Live Tennis Staff - 26 Nov 2009 Tweet Federer is the favorite heading into the last cycle of the round robin stage in London. Even though Roger Federer lost their last match, he has still come in favored against Juan Martin Del Potro in London at Barclay's ATP World Tour Finals. Here are the odds for each player to win their head to head match: Juan Martin Del Potro, +250 (5/2; bet365)Roger Federer, -275 (4/11; Coral, Boylesports) Federer leads their head to head series 6-1 overall with a 3-1 edge on hard court. However Juan Martin Del Potro has really come on strong in their last two matches. Though never being able to take down a set against Federer in their first 5 meetings, Del Potro forced a 5th set against Federer back at Roland Garros and then he, Del Potro, defeated the Swiss Maestro in their most recent match at the 2009 US Open final. That the head to head series looks lopsided in Federer's favor doesn't actually reflect how closely matched these two players are at this point in their careers. Post-US Open, neither player is really on great form but Federer's has been better. True, Federer's loss to Julien Benneteau in Paris was eyebrow raising but then again Del Potro's loss to Edouard Roger-Vasselin back in Tokyo last month was really puzzling. In the current event, Federer appears to be the one who has gotten things together as he has defeated both Fernando Verdasco and, much more impressively, Andy Murray. Del Potro managed a victory over Verdasco as well, but he fell to Murray in the first cycle of the round robin. Also Del Potro has struggled with injury since the US Open and he appears to be in a bit of a let-down at this point in the season. Our recommendation is to take Federer with either Coral or Boylesports. If the short odds disinterest you then you can always head over to bet365 instead and use their "Set Betting" feature where Federer is +300 (3/1) to win the match 2 sets to 1.
