Nadal's problems all began with Soderling.

When Robin Soderling took Rafael Nadal out of the French Open in the spring it seemed like a massive upset but really it was just a pretty big upset.

Soderling wasn't some shot-in-the-dark upstart and he validated the upset of Nadal by making the finals of the French Open and then by making the top 10 on tour.  He wasn't a bad player slaying a giant, he was just at that secret moment in his career when all the hard work on the practice courts had just turned him into a world class player.

While the ATP World Tour Finals is touted as a race to number 1 between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, really Federer's lead looks safe.  Soderling, who got into the event thanks to Andy Roddick's withdrawal, is the lowest ranked player in the field but against Nadal he barely comes in as an underdog.

In fact Soderling is almost at EVEN odds with a lot of sportsbooks to win his round robin match against Nadal, which is hardly a compliment to the Spaniard.

Don't take Soderling at EVEN odds however, but head over to Boylesports where he has been priced better.

Pound Soderling to beat Nadal with Boylesports at +130 (13/10) as the Swede is a better player than Nadal is at this point in their careers.
