The battle for the ATP Santiago Open title will begin on Monday

With several big names in action, the ATP Santiago Open, otherwise known as the Movistar Open, looks set to be an intriguing competition. This is the first clay court tournament of the season, and marks the beginning of the lengthy run-up to the French Open.

David Nalbandian enters as the No. 1 seed, and will be aiming to get through to the second round with minimum fuss when he faces Carlos Berlocq here. The former world No. 3 appears to be the main contender for this title, though he'll face competition from reigning champion Thomaz Bellucci, amongst others. Bellucci is also due to play on Monday. He will face Filippo Volandri in a match that he's expected to win comfortably.

The schedule also includes matches for Tommy Robredo, Potito Starace and Fabio Fognini, who are all seeded here in Santiago. Starace will face wildcard entrant Paul Capdeville, whilst Robredo and Fognini face Frederico Gil and Lukasz Kubot respectively.
