Nikolay Davydenko has been in supreme form this week and he takes on Jurgen Melzer in the Rotterdam quarter-finals.

Davydenko blasted past Marcos Baghdatis 6-3, 6-2, making the Cypriot look second-rate, very impressive given that Baghdatis already has a title to his name this year.

Davydenko took just over an hour to reach the last eight and he has now made light of two very tricky opening match-ups.
Jurgen Melzer has also yet to drop a set, defeating eighth seed Viktor Troicki and Andreas Seppi.

Melzer is a good indoor player with his big forehand and volleying ability but Davydenko leads 5-1 on their head-to-head. Melzer’s only win was a shock 7-5, 7-6 win in Rome last year but Davydenko got swift revenge a couple of months later, crushing the Austrian 6-1, 6-1 in Umag.
