New ATP Rankings - Rafael Nadal still on top

The top three remained unchanged with the Monday updates as Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer remain the top three players in the world.

The ATP updated their rankings on Monday following the results from the 2011 Miami Masters and various smaller tournaments. Rafael Nadal's status as the number one player in the world is protected for the time being but Novak Djokovic is creeping closer.

The top ten on the men's tour saw a few changes on Monday that can be summarized as follows:

  • Andy Murray (+1) is up to world number 4 as Robin Soderling (-1) slides down to 5th
  • Fernando Verdasco (+1) is up to 8th
  • Jurgen Melzer (+1) is up to 9th (new career high ranking)
  • Gael Monfils (+1) is up to 10th
  • Andy Roddick (-6) is out of the top 10 as he failed to protect a substantial amount of ranking points at the Sony Ericsson Open (now ranked 14th)
