The ATP updated their rankings on Monday, March 21st as the ranking points associated with Indian Wells 2010 dropped off and the ranking points associated with this year's event were added on.
Juan Martin Del Potro, who was idle at this time last season with his wrist injury, gained 39 ranking points as he had a successful week last week in making the semifinals at the BNP Paribas Open.
The top 10 did not change much however Roger Federer fell down to world number three as Novak Djokovic jumped up one spot. Djokovic won the Indian Wells title and he is undefeated so far in 2011 having also won his Davis Cup matches, the ATP Dubai event, and the Australian Open.
Stanislas Wawrinka inched closer to the top 10 with his quarterfinal appearance in Indian Wells as he is now ranked world number 13 (was 14).
Milos Raonic has surged in the rankings in 2011 and with the March 21st update he took a baby-step.
Raonic made the third round at the BNP Paribas Open last week and with the effort he jumped up three spots from world number 37 to world number 34.
That ranking should be good enough to get him a seed at Roland Garros in a couple months as it would only take a couple no-shows at the French Open for him to get into the top 32.
In the outer rankings, Uladzimir Ignatik won a challenger level title in Guangzhou over the last week and as a result his ranking has jumped up 24 spots.
Currently ranked 176th (March 21st) Ignatik is one of those players without a profile photo at his ATP homepage but that may be changing soon as the 20 year old continues to improve.
