Feliciano Lopez takes on Mardy Fish in the ATP Queens semi-finals.

Lopez is now the favourite for the title this week having stunned top seed Rafael Nadal 7-6, 6-4 in the quarter-finals with a brilliant display of serve-volley grass-court tennis.

Along with Fish’s third round win over Andy Murray, Nadal’s completed a series of major upsets which have left the tournament without any of the top six seeds going into the semi-finals.

Fish had a busy Friday, finishing off Murray in a third set tiebreak before ousting Michael Llodra 6-4, 6-4 in the last eight.

His match with Lopez will be a throwback to the old days of grass court tennis, two big servers who are keen to come forward as much as possible.

They played at Queens last year and Fish won very comfortably 6-1, 6-4. The American also edged their latest meeting 7-5, 6-3 in Miami a couple of months ago.

Both players have good grass court games but as Fish has won their last two matches reasonably comfortably he is the smart bet to make the final here.
