Grass court tennis fans were treated to a blockbuster final at the All England Club on Sunday as Rafael Nadal suffered a rare Grand Slam final defeat to Novak Djokovic.

Djokovic is now the new number one player in the world while Nadal has sunk down to number two after a stay of more than a year as the top player.

The grass court season is now sort of over with the exception of this week's ATP Newport event. The tournament is a 250 level event with $76,500 going to the winner.

The top seed in the event is John Isner, the hard serving American, with Grigor Dimitrov, the improving 20 year old, the second seed.

The talent level drops down significantly with the third seed as Russia's Igor Kunitsyn, a player with just one career title, looks for a deep run in the event.

Other dangerous players in the draw include Ivo Karlovic, Tommy Haas, and Ryan Harrison.

Like many 250 level events that does not have a top ten player in the field, predicting the winner of ATP Newport looks like a difficult task. If someone like David Ferrer was in the draw it would be hard to see him losing but top seeded John Isner could drop a match to someone like Ryan Harrison almost as easily as Isner could beat him.

Don't be surprised if the outright winner is either Karlovic or Dimitrov however. Barring upsets, those two players could meet in the second round with the survivor looking great to make the tournament's final.
