Tommy Haas continues his comeback against compatriot Michael Berrer in the opening round of the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships.
At his best Haas was a very accomplished grass-courter, picking up the Halle title two years ago and making the Wimbledon semi-finals. However after a hip injury, the veteran German has struggled on return to the tour and at the age of 33 you wonder how much longer Haas' body will let him play on.
Haas has lost all three of his matches since returning at the French Open and not many will give him a chance against the left-handed Berrer who's seeded seventh this week. Berrer also lost in the opening round of Wimbledon but that was against eventual quarter-finalist Feliciano Lopez.
Both men are comfortable up at the net but Haas at his best possessed far more variety and touch. However given how rusty he is, look for Berrer to come through in three.
