Dmitry Tursunov is up against Michael Russell in the first round of the Farmers Classic in Los Angeles.
Tursunov and Russell are locked at 2-2 on the head-to-head but while both Russell's wins came way back in 2001, Tursunov has beaten his veteran opponent twice in the past four years.
Not only that but Tursunov is on the up again after many months battling it out on the challenger circuit. He won a grass court event in Holland last month, his first ATP title in two months and he should be a threat on the hard courts over the next month.
Russell is still clinging on to a place in and around the top 100 at the age of 33. He took Donald Young a bit of a lesson in Atlanta last week before falling to second seed Kevin Anderson.
Tursunov should have far too much firepower but he's still prone to the odd concentration lapse so do not be surprised if Russell pushes him to three sets.
