Richard Gasquet takes on Yuri Schukin for a place in the Allianz Swiss Open Gstaad final.

Gasquet won the Gstaad title back in 2006 and is looking on course to repeat that feat this week. He came through his toughest test so far with flying colours, taking out Stuttgart champion and fourth seed Albert Montanes 7-6, 6-4 in the quarters.

Gasquet served well, hitting nice aces to take him into his third ATP semi-final of the year. "The weather and the conditions changed a lot from yesterday," he said. "Today the tie-break decided the match. It was a good match and it's nice to be in the semifinal."

Schukin scored the biggest upset of the tournament with his shock win over top seed Mikhail Youzhny. While the Russian is ranked just outside the top ten, Schukin is down at 147 and no one gave him a chance but he came out swinging with nothing to lose and pulled it off 6-4, 2-6, 7-5.

Gasquet looks in great form though and is hot favourite to make the final.
