Gilles Simon continues his return to the ATP tour against Michael Llodra in the Eastbourne quarters.

Simon was in the top ten a few years ago but has been plagued by injuries. The Frenchman has just returned from another two month break which kept him out of the French Open. He has done well to make the quarters here but has yet to face a grass courter of Llodra’s calibre.

Llodra outplayed Marin Cilic at Queens last week and his big leftie serve and flat hitting are perfectly suited to the grass. He will be a very dangerous floater at Wimbledon.

These two have played four times in the past, mostly indoors and Llodra has won all of them. Simon likes to counter-punch so is always likely to struggle against an on-form Llodra on a fast court.
