The World Team Cup is the second biggest team event in world tennis and features a sizeable proportion of the top twenty all looking to secure glory for their nations in Germany.
The World Team Cup was on the verge of being scrapped last autumn when it was revealed that the event was in financial difficulties and struggling to attract sponsorship. However luckily at the last minute, energy drink company Power Horse stepped in to save the tournament.
Traditionally staged the week before the French Open, the World Team Cup has been held every year since 1978 and has seen some of the biggest names in tennis history grace the stadium in Dusseldorf.
However in recent years, it has struggled to attract the very elite who have generally preferred to take the week off to practise on the courts of Roland Garros. But in 2011, there's a boost for the organisers with world number five Robin Soderling opting to try and help Sweden win their second title in four years.
It should be a competitive week of tennis with Russia fielding Mikhail Youzhny and 2009 champions Serbia looking to add another big team title to their collection with Viktor Troicki and Janko Tiparevic leading their charge.
The United States performed unexpectedly strongly in 2010 and Mardy Fish, Sam Querrey and John Isner are back again to try and go one better.
