ATP Dubai – Roger Federer pulls out with lung infection

Four time Dubai champion Roger Federer has pulled out of the tournament with a lung infection.

"I can't play, it's too risky," said Federer. "It's a lung infection. It's the first time I've had it. The breathing was difficult. I'm still very tired and a bit slow with everything.”

Federer hopes to be back for Indian Wells next month instead. “Right now, there's no guarantee. I will do tests and see what the doctors say," the Swiss said.

Indian Wells is also rumoured to be the scene of Rafael Nadal’s comeback from a knee injury.

Federer does not want to take any chances after his experience of glandular fever during the start of the 2008 season.
