The quarterfinals will take place today in Doha

Order of play (all times GMT)

Quarterfinals

12:30 – Guillermo Garcia-Lopez v Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

14:00 – Viktor Troicki v Roger Federer

15:30 – Rafael Nadal v Ernests Gulbis

17:00 – Nikolay Davydenko v Ivo Karlovic

Play begins on Centre Court with Guillermo Garcia-Lopez up against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. So far, Garcia-Lopez has lived up to his billing as the seventh seed, whilst third seed Tsonga appears to be sharp despite last month’s injury struggles. This match could be very entertaining.

The next match sees Serbia’s Viktor Troicki facing Roger Federer. Troicki may be the sixth seed this week, but he’ll need to provide something special to defeat Federer. The World number two finished the season in sensational form, and will be fancied to do well this here.

World number one Rafael Nadal meets Ernests Gulbis in the day’s third singles match. Gulbis is a player with a rapidly growing reputation on the tour, and he might be able to cause Nadal some trouble today. Even so, the Spaniard is expected to prevail.

The day’s action will finish with Nikolay Davydenko versus Ivo Karlovic. Karlovic is the only unseeded player left in the competition, and his power and serve make him a formidable opponent. Davydenko, meanwhile, is the fourth seed, and one of the best players in the game right now.
