Pablo Cuevas leads the field again for the second of the Copa Petrobas challengers in Bueno Aires.

Cuevas narrowly failed to defend his Montevideo title last week, losing out in three sets in the final to Maximo Gonzalez. The pair will be among the favourites to reach the latter stages again this week. However Cuevas has a tricky opener against former world number 47 Martin Vassallo Arguello.

Gonzalez's run came as a surprise on paper but the Argentine was ranked 58 in the world back in July 2009 and has only slipped out of the top 200 due to injury.

Their main challenger to the title could be Italy's Fabio Fognini who took a late wildcard into the draw after winning the Napoli tournament last week. Fognini has been on a roll recently, pushing Fernando Verdasco to five sets at the US Open and winning the Genova challenger a few weeks later. He could face Gonzalez in a fascinating second round clash.

Third seed Brian Dabul will be hoping to improve on his showing in Montevide where he lost a tight three setter to Gonzalez in the quarters.
