Vinciguerra reached 33 in the world back in 2001 but now only competes part time on the tour. He last played in Sweden’s Davis Cup defeat to Argentina in March but managed to grind out a three set win over in-form German Daniel Brands in round one.

Soderling is hot favourite to defend the Bastad title he won last year. The Swede repeated his 2009 run to the French Open final and is now ranked 5 in the world.
