Soderling put in an impressive third round performance to defeat Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-2 and is playing some solid tennis this week, smashing 16 aces in his two matches to date.
World number 59 Eduardo Schwank is having a decent week, the Argentine also making the last eight without dropping a set. Schwank enjoyed a notable 7-6, 6-4 win over Lleyton Hewitt in the second round though Hewitt is a fading force on clay these days.
These two played for the first time earlier this year in Sweden’s Davis Cup tie against Argentina. Soderling enjoyed a comfortable straight sets win indoors but on the clay he will be given a harder time.
