Almagro is the man to beat in Acapulco having won the tournament for the past two years.
He has a strange record on the South American circuit, always doing poorly in Bueno Aires and then producing his best in Acapulco. He has continued the trend so far this year with a first round exit in Argentina last week and a dominant first round win in Mexico.
Gasquet is a bit of a surprise package, he has been very streaky this year, making the final in Sydney and then following that with several early exits.
