Ferrero is the in-form player right now having won successive titles in Brazil and Argentina. He has not been beaten in twelve matches and has breezed into the last eight without dropping a set, looking very impressive in dispatching Igor Andreev 6-4, 6-3 in round two.

Almagro seems to save his best for Acapulco though, having won this title for the past two years and he will not give it up lightly as he showed against Richard Gasquet in round two.
