Day 5 is more than half over and all 5 of the favorites in the men's draw are still alive in kicking.

Roger Federer has been the favorite for the 2010 US Open ever since Rafael Nadal failed in both Toronto and Cincinnati.  Andy Murray is the second favorite but based on the relative odds, the Scot might be the better pick for value.

Here are the updated odds for the top 8 favorites in the outright winner's market for the 2010 US Open:

1.  Roger Federer +175 (7/4) Bodog
2.  Andy Murray +300 (3/1) Bodog
3.  Rafael Nadal +350 (7/2) Bodog
4.  Novak Djokovic +1600 (16/1) Victor Chandler
5.  Robin Soderling +2000 (20/1) Victor Chandler
6.  David Nalbandian +3300 (33/1) Paddy Power
7.  Mardy Fish +3400 (34/1) Bwin
8.  Richard Gasquet +10000 (100/1) Victor Chandler

If you backed Federer during Cincinnati or earlier at +275 (11/4) or longer then you have to be happy about the situation you are in.  However his odds are tough to tip as valuable at +175 (7/4) with a draw to the title that could go Soderling-Djokovic-Murray.

Our recommendation at this point is to take Murray instead at +300 (3/1) with Bodog.  He appears to be poised for the title and should he face Federer in the final, Murray will feel much more confident this time.
