Make it three - Kim Clijsters has taken down her third US Open title.

Vera Zvonareva is playing the best tennis of her career but she still is no match for Kim Clijsters on the hard court surface.   

Zvonareva, of Russia, is now 0 for 2 in Grand Slam finals as she fell to Kim Clijsters in the US Open championship 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday night.  Zvonareva now joins a couple of other noteworthy Russian 0-fors in Elena Dementieva and Dinara Safina, two other players that have made the scene in Slams and then fallen flat on their faces.

Even in losing in both the Wimbledon final and the US Open final Zvonareva has overachieved this summer however as she was not considered threats for either of those appearances before the summer started.
