Roger Federer dismissed Robin Soderling without a fuss and the odds on the Swiss Maestro have shortened.

Roger Federer will now face Novak Djokovic in the semifinals of the 2010 US Open as the Swiss Maestro took out Robin Soderling in the quarterfinals on Wednesday night.  Djokovic, of all players remaining in the draw, may be the player most likely to eliminate Federer - if anyone does.

Here are the betting odds for the 6 players remaining in the draw prior to any singles action on Thursday:

  1. Roger Federer +114 (about 11/10; SkyBet)
  2. Rafael Nadal +137 (about 7/5; Bodog)
  3. Novak Djokovic +650 (13/2; Bodog)
  4. Mikhail Youzhny +5900 (59/1; bwin)
  5. Fernando Verdasco +6600 (66/1; BetFred)
  6. Stanislas Wawrinka +6600 (66/1; BetFred)

Djokovic at +650 (13/2) may be the play to make at this point just because he's a genuine threat to the title and he's the one with the long odds.  He's a +300 underdog with Stan James to beat Federer in the semifinal, but he can pull that off he would have to considered the favorite to win it all regardless of who he plays in the championship final.

Federer is priced more or less right, Nadal is over-rated, while Djokovic should only be at about +475.  If you are opening your betting at this point, take the Serbian.
