Gianna Mina will make his Grand Slam debut against the King of clay.

Rafael Nadal suffered a shocking loss last year in the 4th round of the French Open to Robin Soderling and while that made big headlines around the world, it would be an even greater shock if Nadal were to lose in the first round of the 2010 French Open as he will start his campaign to re-capture the French Open single's title with a match against Gianni Mina, a French wild card.

Nadal has opened this match with odds that are tough to fathom as bet365 have placed him at -50000 (1/500) in their win market.

Mina, who has not even earned $5000 in career prize money, has a price of +3300 (33/1) to win the match but there's no way you can bet it.  The true odds for Mina to win might be more like +20000 (200/1) and the only way Mina, who is ranked 653rd on tour and would not be in the draw if he was not French, can possibly win this match is if Nadal limps off the court with an untimely injury (even then your sportsbook will just use their injury clause to refund your bet).

Mina won a tournament on clay in Turkey earlier this year to take down a whopping 18 ranking points and he wouldn't get one of the wild cards if French tennis didn't think he had some potential.  However in his most recent match he fell to one 'Dusan Lajovic' who was ranked 543rd at the time of the match and if Mina, who is just 18 years old, has potential it's not likely to be actualized at this year's French.

This is a tough match to find a betting angle on that can actually be recommended with a straight face.....Nadal in straight sets at -1200 (1/12; Paddy Power)?
