Roger Federer's Switzerland take on the United States in a Davis Cup World Group first round tie from February 10th-12th.
Switzerland suffered one of their lowest Davis Cup moments at the end of 2010 when they were sent down to the Euro-African Zone after a humiliating defeat to Kazakhstan. However with Roger Federer back on board, the Swiss are back in the World Group and they're favourites to reach the quarter-finals.
Stanislas Wawrinka is also in action for the Swiss but the USAare badly missing the feisty Andy Roddick. They're fielding Mardy Fish and John Isner but unfortunately for them, the Swiss have cunningly exploited their home advantage by laying the slowest of indoor clay courts for the tie.
Both Fish and Isner are big servers who love to get forward and they particularly hate the spring clay-court swing, generally choosing to compete in as few events as possible.
In contrast, Federer has been in five French Open finals, winning the title in 2009 while Wawrinka has enjoyed some of his finest successes on clay, reaching the Rome Masters final a few years ago.
The Americans should be able to get a point in the doubles as they have Mike Bryan (who has won the French Open title with brother Bob) but don't expect them to get too many points in the singles.
