Andreas Beck looks to seal his place at the top of the Green Group when he takes on Bobby Reynolds today at the ATP Challenger Tour Finals.
Beck turned in a superb performance on Thursday to defeat top seed and world number 35 Thomaz Bellucci 6-3, 4-6, 6-4, withstanding 13 aces to break the Bellucci serve six times in total.
"I felt very good on the court today," Beck said. "Thomaz also played well, but in the important moments I could step up. The crowd was good to me even though they were supporting him. Tomorrow I have to stay focused because nothing is defined yet."
Of course Beck has competed at a much higher level himself in the past and he was ranked in the world's top 35 not that long ago. He's reached four challenger tour finals this season and looks like the favourite to go on and win this title.
Reynolds kept his hopes alive with a 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 win over Martin Klizan but he was schooled by Bellucci on the opening day and it's hard to see him taking out Beck in this form.
