Victoria Azarenka will be up against a resurgent Iveta Benesova in round four of the 2012 Australian OpenYou can watch and bet on Azarenka v Benesova live for free at bet365 > live tennisVictoria Azarenka emerged unscathed from a third round clash against rising star Mona Barthel on Friday, beating the German 6-2, 6-4. Azarenka will surely be pleased to have put Barthel away in straight sets, especially since the youngster triumphed last week in Hobart amidst a reasonably strong field.
Despite winning the match in a fairly ideal manner, Azarenka caught the attention of the crowd by losing her temper a little after winning the final point. “I had to get a little bit angry,” conceded the Belarusian after the contest, “and get my emotions going to finish the match, because I had a few chances and didn’t convert them. Sometimes you just have to push yourself a little bit to get you going again.”
“I’m very emotional player,” she continued. “I mean, if you ever watched my matches, you know. Before there was bad emotion. Breaking rackets, having that almost-crying face on the court, as a lot of players do. Now I try to stay composed and control it.”
Azarenka’s next challenge will be a fourth round encounter against Iveta Benesova. Benesova is no stranger to playing at big events, but the odds are stacked firmly against her. Another straight sets win for Azarenka seems likely.
