Lleyton Hewitt takes on Cedrik-Marcel Stebe in the night session on Rod Laver Arena on day two of the Australian Open.
Hewitt has contested more Australian Opens than any other player. This will be an incredible 16th appearance for the 30 year old at his home slam, a run which goes all the way back to 1997 when at just 15, he became the youngest player in history to qualify for the main draw.
He made the final back in 2005 and although he may no longer be a title contender, he's still provided the Melbourne crowd with some memorable contests in recent years. Hewitt lives for the big night-session matches on Rod Laver and he'll be eyeing up a potential second round clash with old rival Andy Roddick.
"Out of all the unseeded guys that guys could draw, I'd like to think that I'd probably be tougher than most of the others,'' Hewitt said ahead of the tournament. ''Especially over five sets, because what I pride myself on is being able to go the distance."
However 21 year old Stebe shouldn't be underestimated. He broke into the top 100 last year, beating Juan Carlos Ferrero and Nikolay Davydenko on clay. However can he cope with the intimidating atmosphere provided by thousands of Aussie fans, all rooting against him ? He's struggled so far in 2012, losing in qualifying for Sydney last week.
Look for Hewitt to rise to the occasion and ease through this one in straight sets.
