Jie Zheng and Sara Errani will meet in an unexpected fourth round showdown at the 2012 Australian OpenYou can watch and bet on Zheng v Errani live for free at bet365 > live tennisJie Zheng upset the odds in round three in Melbourne, dumping Marion Bartoli out of the competition in straight sets (6-3, 6-3). Zheng is clearly producing some of the best tennis of her career at the moment, and is perhaps destined for another lengthy run here at the Australian Open.
“Yeah, I think this year is a good start because I win Auckland and right now I win three match in Australian Open,” said Zheng when asked about her recent form. “So it probably give me the big confidence. But I know every match is tough. So I don't think too far. I just want step by step.”
Bartoli commented after her loss that Zheng’s sublime movement around the court had played a huge part in the victory. The 28 year-old seemed to agree. “I do the training too hard, so that's why I move so quick. But I know Bartoli, she play so aggressive. I play against her the many times before. So, yeah, my coach tell me make her move. So today I think I do good.”
Zheng will now meet Sara Errani on Monday. Errani bounced back from a set down to defy Sorana Cirstea in round three (6-7, 6-0, 6-2). She’ll need to reproduce her second and third set form to be in with a shout here. Zheng is evidently a very dangerous player to be up against at the moment.
