Andy Murray takes on France's Edouard Roger-Vasselin in the evening match on Hisense Arena in the second round of the Australian Open.
While Murray had to toil for four sets in the blazing daytime heat on Tuesday, Roger-Vasselin would have been languidly watching the match from his hotel room after first round opponent Xavier Malisse retired after just 64 minutes.
"He'll be well rested," Murray admitted enviously. "I don't know too much about him but he's been on the tour for a while. He's playing the best tennis of his career just now, so I'm going to need to play well but hopefully I can get another win."
The Murray-Lendl coaching partnership has grabbed headline after headline over the past fortnight but things have been looking rosy so far and the fourth seed said that his mentor understood how difficult his opener against the talented Ryan Harrison had been.
"He understands how you might be feeling at the start of a Grand Slam, what it's like to play against someone that you haven't played against, what it's like playing in different conditions, how you feel in really warm conditions.," Murray explained.
"Some weeks you feel very comfortable in the conditions straight away and sometimes it takes a few matches. It was incredibly hot and the balls were bouncing up very high whereas it has been cool [in previous days]. And this court particularly reacts a lot to the temperature. It took me a little while to adjust to that."
He'll be happier playing Roger-Vasselin in cooler conditions on Thursday. And while the Frenchman may be rested, he's ranked 101 in the world and this is the first time he's made the second round of the Aussie Open. Murray to ease through in straight sets.
