Henin won this tournament back in 2001 and with only one other player in the field ranked in the top 30 she is huge favourite to go all the way this week.
It will be interesting to see how Henin has bounced back from her disappointment at Roland Garros. She went in as the title favourite but crashed out in the fourth round to eventual runner-up Sam Stosur.
Since she returned to the tour Henin has said how winning Wimbledon is the ultimate goal which led her to come out of retirement. She has made various changes to her game with a mind to completing that elusive set of slams.
Henin has played Kerber once before, winning 6-4, 6-2 in Miami two years ago. The German left-hander is ranked 57 and won a few rounds in Birmingham last week but she’s not in Henin’s class on this surface.
